#BLACKLIVESMATTER
This design was made to spread awareness about #blm movement. As a black woman myself, what I experience in America and what I see on the media truly effects me. This planet is absolutely disgusting! The hatred that seems to follow us every generation is incredibly incomprehensible. However, this design was created to show hope and to envision a better future for all of us. To put out that we all are human and deserve to be treated as such. To one day where we all don’t have to fight for equality. This design features six colorful pieces from the Miss Smiley collection. The colors represent a rainbow, meaning no matter where you come from, no matter who you love, no matter what you believe in and no who you are, we are all in this together!
#OCCUPYCITYHALL
These pieces were created while was at an overnight BLM protest at City Hall in Manhattan, NY. While I was there, I was reading an article about how there was a law passed in California to ban discrimination for African American natural hair. Now I'm really stunned! The fact we had to make a law for people like me to just where their hair how it comes out of our head, is f***** ridiculous! In "protest" I made six pieces that have black women wearing their hair however they please. It saddens me to know that there is so much discrimination out here in this world even down to the follicle.
